Who I am

Getting Stuff Done CBR is a sole-trader handyman business run by me, Marco Xuereb, serving Canberra, Yass, Murrumbateman and surrounds. This policy explains how I collect, use and store your personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What I collect

When you fill out the contact form, call, text or email me, I may collect:

Your name, phone number and email address
The address of the property where the work is needed
A description of the job, including any photos you send me
Quotes, invoices and payment records for work I do for you

I don't collect sensitive information such as health or financial details unless you choose to tell me something relevant to the job, for example access needs at your home.

How I use it

I use your details to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, schedule and carry out the work, send invoices and follow up on anything that needs fixing. I may also keep your details so I can help with future jobs at the same property.

I don't send marketing emails or newsletters, and I won't add you to any list without asking first.

Who I share it with

I don't sell or rent your information to anyone. I only share it when the job needs it:

Licensed trades I bring in for parts of a job, such as an electrician or plumber, who get only what they need to do their work
Suppliers, where a delivery goes straight to your property
My accountant and bookkeeping software, for tax and record-keeping
Where the law requires it

Photos of your job

I take photos of finished work for my own records and sometimes show them on this website or on social media. I'll ask before using photos of your property, and I never include your name, address or anything that identifies your home. If you'd like a photo taken down, tell me and I'll remove it.

How I store it

Your details are kept on my phone, email account and bookkeeping software, all protected by passwords. Enquiries sent through the contact form are handled by Wix, which hosts this website; its own privacy policy covers how it processes that data. I keep records for as long as Australian tax law requires, generally five years, then delete them.

This website

The site uses the standard cookies and analytics that come with Wix hosting, so I can see how many people visit and which pages they look at. This data is aggregated and doesn't identify you. You can block cookies in your browser and the site will still work.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to see what information I hold about you, correct it, or delete it where I'm not required to keep it. Just call or email and I'll sort it out within a couple of weeks.

If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, tell me first and I'll do my best to fix it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
